Target ALS, Inc. (TALS) is a leader in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). TALS’s mission is to provide critical tools and resources for scientists to test ideas. Further information may be found on the TALS website, https://www.targetals.org/.
TALS is a 501(c)(3) organization, and all monetary donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by tax laws. Please check with your financial advisor if you have more questions.
Overview
TALS is providing a communications web platform that may include TALS website(s), social media, advertising, and other commonly used marketing channels such as but not limited to for example a computer application or recognition at an event (“TALS Platform”). The TALS Platform is provided as a public service by TALS for the purpose of sharing stories, educating, research ideation, and potential marketing material for the benefit of the ALS community and the TALS mission. All content presented on the TALS Platform is considered public information and may be distributed or copied. Use of appropriate byline/photo/image credits is requested. If using information, content, photos or any information containing third party personal identifiable information (PII) or personal health information (PHI), you are required to show TALS a signed waiver by the third party to use their information on the TALS Platform. Content posted by TALS or by anyone else on the TALS Platform is solely that of the person or entity posting and not of TALS’ opinion and not an endorsement by TALS. Content may include but is not limited to information, data, photos, drawings, interpretations, analysis, and opinions.

If you choose to provide us with personal information – like filling out a Contact Us form with e-mail and/or postal addresses – we will only use that information to respond to your message or request. We will only share the information you give us with another entity if your inquiry relates to that entity or person, or as otherwise required by law. TALS never collects information for commercial marketing. TALS a is collecting demographical data from Google, Facebook and other social media, who own the data, for analytical and statistical purpose to retarget to specific ALS audiences, and no personal information is collected using this technology. This TALS system uses software programs to create summary statistics, which are used for such purposes as assessing what information is of most and least interest, determining technical design specifications, and identifying system performance or problem areas. You can choose not to accept these cookies and still use the site. The help information in your browser software should provide you with instruction on how to disable session cookies. For site management, information is collected for analytical and statistical purposes. This TALS computer system uses software programs to create summary statistics which are used for such purposes as assessing what information is of most and least interest, determining technical design specifications, and identifying system performance or problem areas.
For site security purposes and to ensure that this service remains available to all users, this TALS system employs software programs to monitor network traffic to identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information, or otherwise cause damage.
Your interaction with this system is not anonymous. By using this system, you are consenting to the monitoring of your activity. Raw data logs will only be used to identify individual users and their usage habits for authorized law enforcement investigations or national security purposes. These logs are used for no other purposes and are scheduled for regular destruction in accordance with National Archives and Records Administration General Schedule 20.
