What is a matching gift?
A matching gift is a type of donation where a donor’s contribution is matched, dollar-for-dollar, by another donor, company, or foundation. It multiplies the impact of each contribution!
For example, a $100 donation matched 1:1 would result in $200 for Target ALS.
A matching gift program amplifies community support for accelerating progress in ALS research.
How does a matching gift program work?
During a specific timeframe, every contribution you make to Target ALS will be matched, dollar-for-dollar. That means your support will go twice as far in advancing our mission. Whether $5 or $500, you can double your donation’s effect simply by giving within the scheduled window.
Who is sponsoring the match?

What are the dates for the matching gift program?
Donations must be made from now through December 31, 2024, to qualify for matching.
Can I make a recurring gift and have it matched?
Yes, you can set up a recurring gift. However, only the initial installment of your recurring gift made during the matching period will qualify for the match.
Is there a maximum amount that can be matched?
Yes, the matching funds are available up to a total of $100,000.
What if I work for a company that offers corporate matching gifts?
That’s great! Corporate matching gifts are a way to amplify your contribution even further. Initially, your contribution will be matched by our campaign sponsor, and then your employer may match your gift again. That triples the impact of your gift! Please check with your employer to see if they have a matching gift program, and how to submit your gift for a match.
Can I participate in the match if I have already donated this year?
Yes! Contributions made during the matching gift period qualify, even if you have already donated this year. This is a great time to maximize the effect of your additional support.
