A Letter From Our Chief Executive Officer, Manish Raisinghani…
Dear colleagues and friends,
We have decided to cancel the Target ALS Annual Meeting, which was scheduled for May 5-7th in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
This was a difficult decision for our team but one we felt was necessary due to the spread of COVID-19. It is also in accordance with the latest guidelines recommending against gatherings or 10 people or more.
Collaboration lives at the heart of all that we do together and has fueled much of the research innovation inspired by our unique model. Our annual meeting serves as a summit for that collaborative spirit. However, we cannot advance our work together without the health and safety of all our partners, colleagues and supporters.
We do not plan to reschedule the annual meeting at this time due to the evolving restrictions and timelines surrounding the pandemic, as well as other unmitigable circumstances. However, we will simply continue our work together utilizing other mediums. Our office is already closed, and staff is working effectively from their homes. Similarly, our core facilities are still in full operation, as is our grantmaking and other resources for scientists.
For a list of these resources, please visit the “Research” tab on our homepage at www.targetals.org. Additionally, please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
Details of the 2021 Annual Meeting, including dates, will be announced later this year.
On behalf of the Target ALS team, thank you for your ongoing partnership in the fight against ALS and as a fellow citizen doing your part to combat the spread of COVID-19.
Regards and well wishes,
Manish Raisinghani
CEO, Target ALS
